<br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JULY 06, 2015 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Raig called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: Laura Bellido, Bob Papotto, Eric Allain, Michael Raig <br />Absent: Jennifer Rudolph <br />Staff: Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Assistant Building Commissioner Daniel <br />Russell, Clerk of Commissions Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Allain moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto to approve the amended minutes of June 22, <br />2015 which passed 4-0. <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUEST <br />APP15-3507: James Maskil; 4045 Brendan Lane: <br />Proposal consists of a shed. The following variance is requested: A 16 sq. ft. variance for <br />installing a new shed; code permits 80 sq. ft., applicant shows 96 sq. ft., section 1135.02 (d)(1). <br />The oath was administered to Jim Maskil. He said the existing metal shed is rusted and falling <br />apart it needs to be replaced. The proposed shed is slightly larger and the existing slab will be <br />used to house the new shed. It's his intent to have the shed in place prior to winter. Mr. Allain <br />asked for confirtnation that the current slab was preexisting and would be reused and Mr. Maskil <br />said yes. Board members had no objections. <br />Mr. Papotto moved, seconded by Mr. Allain, to grant APP15-3507: James Maskil of 4045 <br />Brendan Lane: A16 sq. ft. variance for installing a new shed; code permits 80 sq. ft., <br />applicant shows 96 sq. ft., Section1135.02 (d)(1), which passed 4-0. <br />APP15-3653: Sandv Dam; 27729 Marquette Blvd: <br />Proposal consists of a fence. The following variance is requested: A 50'variance for a fence in <br />the rear yard of a corner lot that is not located at the required front building setback of the <br />abutting lot on the side street; code requires 50', applicant shows 0', Section 1135.02 (fl( 2), <br />1135.06 (a). <br />The oath was administered to owners Sandy Dang, Tom Kraft and neighbor Richard Schilens. <br />Mr. Kraft said their home is on a corner lot that has heavy traffic, it's their intent to fence in the <br />backyard to ensure both family and pet are safe. He submitted letters from his neighbors and dog <br />trainer supporting the request. Placement of the fence is to ensure two existing mature trees are <br />preserved. To make sure they don't block their neighbor's line of site, they chose a decorative <br />fence which will be 5' tall and 50% open. Mr. Schilens said he abuts the property and has had
