BZA previously granted a variance for 7 additional ground signs on 9/2/10. <br />2. Ground signs include: one existing ground sign (Lorain Road), two existing directional signs <br />(Lorain Road, not shown on plans), one pre-sell sign (#1), one drive through gateway sign <br />(#2), two order here signs (#3) and two menu board signs (#4). <br />3. Ground signs (#1), (#2), (#3) and (#4) are non-conforming pole signs. <br />The oath was administered to Larsen Architect Jim Ptacek and McDonald's representative Jason <br />Jarchow. Mr. Ptacek said McDonald's drive-thru expansion was granted variances in 2013 and in <br />2014 was granted an extension of time, however due to unforeseen circumstances the variances <br />have expired. They've returned to seek approval for the same variances granted in 2013. He <br />briefly reviewed the scope of the work required to expand the drive-thru which would improve <br />interior traffic flow as well as alleviate vehicle stacking onto Lorain Road. Neither staff nor <br />board members had objections to the request. <br />Ms. Bellido moved, seconded by 1VIr. Papotto, to grant APP15-3563: McDonalds of 27322 <br />Lorain Road their request for modifications to the drive through and the following variances <br />are granted: <br />1. A 3.5 foot variance for rear yard parking setback, code requires 10', applicant shows <br />6.5", Section 1139.07 table. <br />2. A 4.5 foot side yard setback (east), code requires 10' for parking and drives, applicant <br />shows 5.5', Section 1139.07 table. <br />3. E1 variance for 8 additional ground signs, code permits 1, and applicant shows 9, Section <br />1163.27(a). See notes 1 and 2 below. <br />4. A variance for multiple ground signs located within 200 feet, code requires separation <br />of 200 feet, applicant shows less than 200, Section 1163.27(a). <br />5.
