?. ? •
The oath was administered to Barbra Simoncic and neighbors John Horsfall and Tara Telzrow. Ms.
Simoncic said her home abuts the North Olmsted Golf Course and condos and they have had issues with
golfers and patrons of the condos trespassing, approaching their children while they play outdoors and
incidents of people looking through their windows. The level of intrusions is such that a fence is
warranted. They're asking for a fence which would be 4' high, although a 6' privacy fence is really
needed. The only section of fencing to be solid board on board is the area which abuts the golf course
parking lot the remaining fence would be picket style. Abutting neighbors Mr. Horsfall and Ms. Telzrow
both felt a 4-foot fence abutting the golf course parking lot would not provide safety and suggested they
would be open to a section of the southern fence being a solid 6 foot fence. Board members voiced they
were open to allowing the applicant to be tabled and return with a new submittal. Ms. Simoncic asked to
be tabled so the fence height and layout could be reworked and submitted.
1VIs. Itudolph moved, seconded by 1VIr. Allain to grant APP15-3311: Matthew & Barbra Simoncie of
5770 Canterbury Road their request for postponernent until the special BZA meeting of 6/22/15,
which passed 5-0.
APP15-3332: Jeff Sturgeon; 3029 West 231st:
Proposal consists of a new garage. The following variance is requested:
1.A 7.5 ft. variance for rear yard setback for a garage; code requires 10 ft., applicant shows 2.5 ft.,
Section 1135.02(c)(2).
Note: Previous variances granted for side yard setback and setback from a dwelling.
The oath was administered to Jeff Sturgeon. Mr. Sturgeon said since last month's meeting the garage was
moved forward 2.5 feet so the garage can be maintained without trespassing. He reviewed the variances
previously granted for distance to home and side yard setback. Once the garage is completed the existing
shed, deck and fence will be removed. Ms. Rudolph asked if the garage would be any closer to the home
or was the garage size decreased. Mr. Sturgeon said the dimensions of the garage are the same he is just
moving if forward 2.5 feet which doesn't bring it any closer to the home then what was approved. Mr.
Russell said he had no objections. Mr. Allain said there is vacant land behind the home and with 2'/z feet
the garage can be maintained.
Mr. Raig moved, seconded by Ms.l2udolph, to grant APP15-3332: Jeff Sturgeon of 3029 West 231St
a 7.5 ft. variance for rear yard setback for a garage; code requires 10 ft., applicant shows 2.5 ft.,
Section 1135.02(c)(2).1Vlotion passed 5-0.
ADJOURNMENT
Approved: to i ? 1 .15
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. ,.-
-?j?
Je 1i er Rud o h, Chair onna Rote, Clerk of Commissions ?2
