Mr. Allain asked if the garage <br />would be the same size and Mr. Vitaz said the new garage would be in the same location but it <br />will be slightly wider. Mr. Raig said the home is located on the lot in a manner that makes <br />building a garage difficult to place. <br />Ms. Rudolph moved, seconded by Mr. Allan, to grant 15-3901-Robert & Sharon Vitaz of <br />23849 Lucille Drive a 5ft. 4 inch. variance for a detached garage located less than 15 ft. <br />from dwelling; code requires 15 ft., applicant shows 9 ft. 8 inches, Section 1135.02(c)(2), <br />which passed 5-0. <br />COMMERCIAL APPEALS AND REQUEST <br />APP15-3528: Starbucks: 27264 Lorain Road: <br />Proposal consists of wall signs. The following variances are requested: <br />1. A variance for 3 additional wall signs, (1-Starbucks, 2- Developer Medallions), code permits <br />2, applicant shows 10, section 1163.28 a. (7 wall signs were previously granted 10/7/13). <br />2. A 14.5 square foot variance for the maximum sign face per building, code permits 515 sq. ft. <br />applicant shows 529 sq. ft., section 1163.28 (b). (Analysis is for Giant Eagle wall signs only). <br />The oath was administered to contractor Yacine Dajemil. Mr. Dajemil said there will be a <br />Starbucks located inside Giant Eagle and they would like a wall sign on the exterior wall. The <br />medallions which were previously installed have been in place and represent the owner's logo. <br />Ms. Rudolph asked if the medallions were necessary and Mr. Russell said the medallions have <br />been in place since the building was constructed but never addressed. Mr. Allain asked if <br />Starbucks would have a logo and Mr. Dajemil said they would not have a logo. Mr. Allain asked <br />if each of the tenants within Giant Eagle were in individual units would they be entitled to each <br />have a wall sign and Mr. Russell said yes. Mr. Allain said a Starbucks sign is warranted to let <br />customers know they're located inside the Giant Eagle building. Ms. Rudolph said she is <br />concerned the number of wall signs on the building will continue to grow. Mr. Raig said he had <br />no objections because if each was a separate unit the signs would be allowed without a variance. <br />Mr. Raig moved, seconded by Ms. Rudolph, to grant APP15-3528: Starbucks of 27264 <br />Lorain Road the following variances: <br />1.
