2. A 38 inch variance for a ground sign within the front setback of the right of way, code
requires 5 ft., applicant shows lft. 10 inches, section 1163.27 (b).
3. A 60 foot variance for 2 ground signs being less than 200 ft. apart, code requires 200 ft.,
applicant shows 140 ft., section 1163.27 (a).
The oath was administered to Ta11yCM Management Kurt Hanson, owner Robert Morris, Morris
Cadillac representative Randy Phillips and neighbor Timothy Nowak. Mr. Hanson said they are
requesting two ground signs which would be located on either side of the driveway. Both vehicle
brands request their own ground signs as there are two dealerships on the lot. Mr. Nowak said he
was present to view what was being done and to ensure the signs would not impede vehicle or
pedestrian traffic which it doesn't appear it will. Mr. Phillips noted different dealerships which
had two or more ground signs along Lorain Road. There are currently two ground signs in place.
They will be removing the existing ground sign and non-conforming pole sign and replacing
them with new ground signs which will match in style and size. Ms. Rudolph asked why the
signs couldn't be placed to code. Mr. Hanson said the location of the signs is due to the depth of
the landscape beds and placing the signs in line with one another to aesthetically blend. Mr.
Allain said he had no objections to the request because if each dealership was on a separate
parcel they would be allowed. Ms. Rudolph asked if either sign was within the required line of
site triangle. Mr. Russell said no, the 38 inch variance is for front setback only.
Mr. Allain mowed, seconded by 1VIr. Papotto, to grant 15-3770: Morris Cadillac of 26100
Lorain Road the following variances:
1. A variance for 1 additional ground sign, code permits 1, applicant shows 2, 1163.27 (a).
1Vlotion passed 5-0.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business the meeting adjourned a
ov,m_?
