Action Agenda Item <br />Create a more full service community center with offerings that go beyond physical recreation, <br />such as cooking classes, arts and crafts, health and wellness, music, theater, etc. As part of the <br />re-imagining the city should: 1) conduct a resident survey to identify additional programming <br />opportunities; 2) evaluate expansion onto the vacant land to the north for additional facilities <br />such as playing fields, splash park, etc.; 3) seek partner organizations that could bring new <br />resources to the community, and 4) improve marketing to North Olmsted employers and <br />neighboring communities that do not have recreation centers, namely Olmsted Falls and <br />Olmsted Township. <br />Successes <br />In October 2015, the City entered into a contract with John Patrick Picard Architect to provide L, <br />architectural and design services to the City as part of a Recreation Center Master Planning <br />Study. The aim of the planning process is to reevaluate the building in light of recent additions <br />and expansions including the fitness center, determine other necessary facility improvements, ? <br />and identify opportunities for new programming. The resulting document will include a? <br />conceptual plan for facility improvements along with budget ranges and a phasing plan.
