Mr. Morse asked the wording in the <br />program overview to be "before or during 1915." Mr. Dubelko wanted the reference to the <br />ordinance to be removed from the letter and for the letter to reassure homeowners that <br />recognition would not require further obligations on their part. He added that it should be as <br />friendly as possible to help entice homeowners to participate in the program. Mr. Limpert <br />suggested different formatting for the program overview to make it easier to understand for <br />residents. <br />Butternut District Survey <br />Mr. Aspery reviewed the memo from Kim Wenger on August 31, 2016 regarding the correct <br />historic district map. Mr. Morse clarified that homes given local recognition that are not on <br />Butternut are not in the district. Mr. Aspery will find out if the updated map will need to be <br />approved by Council. <br />Mr. Dubowski mentioned that he talked to the Ward 4 Councilperson regarding historic district <br />improvements. Some suggestions were improving the signs at both ends of the district, installing <br />banner signs along Butternut Ridge and installing a wrought iron fence in front of Butternut <br />Ridge cemetery. Commissioners did not believe a wrought iron fence would be in keeping with <br />the spirit of the district, but they did agree that signage could be improved. Mr. Aspery suggested <br />potentially looking at the Butternut improvement study that was done a few years before to see <br />what else can be done. Mr. Dubelko suggested using banners in other areas of the city connected <br />to other families who played a role in North Olmsted's history. He also suggested using social <br />media to increase awareness of the local history to invoke pride in the community. <br />Mr. Aspery reviewed data from the quarterly report regarding the Heritage Home Program.
