<br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR MARCH 14, 2016 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: David Neville, Tom Dubowski, Jim Dubelko, Gretchen Schuler, Duane Limpert, Jim <br />Morse <br />Absent: Paul Schumann . <br />Staff: Planning Director Kim Wenger, Planner James Aspery, Administrative Assistant Nicole <br />Rambo <br />Ms. Schuler moved, seconded by Mr. Dubelko, to excuse Mr. Schumann's absence, motion <br />passed 6-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Limpert, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of February 8, 2016, motion passed 6-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />16-5168; Dudlev Beckrest; 25346 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Representative: Dudley Beckrest <br />1VIr. Beckrest stated that he has lived in his home for about 25 years. He went to the same <br />window manufacturer of the windows that were approved by the Landmarks Commission 12 <br />years ago. The applicant is replacing 5 windows, all of which are located in the back of the <br />house. Ms. Beckrest stated that they are the same windows that were put on the sides of the <br />house. Mr. Dubowski clarified that the single casement window will be installed in the kitchen. <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness <br />for new windows for 16-5168; Dudley Beckrest; 25346 Butternut Ridge Road, motion <br />passed 6-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Centennial Home Program ' <br />Ms. Wenger stated that the Landmarks Commission previously agreed that only homes that <br />existed at the time of North Olmsted's Centennial in 1915. Discussion over whether program <br />should be proactive or reactive to resident participation. The approach would determine the type <br />of application needed. Mr. Neville liked the proactive approach but said it would be more work <br />for the commissioners. He pointed out that a lot of the eligible homes would be outside of the <br />historic district. Mr. Morse did not believe the homeowners should have the full burden-of doing
