commission. Included in the materials were a slideshow and projector. Mr. Schumann stated that <br />he saw Lois Van Auken's slideshow presentation about historic homes in North Olmsted several <br />times and it was very good. Mr. Morse suggested presenting the slideshow after an upcoming <br />Commission meeting. <br />2016 AnnuallZeport <br />Mr. Schumann would like to add "Support for the Olmsted Historic Society and its restoration <br />work on the Thompson House" as a goal for the commission. Mr. Schumann suggested the <br />Annual Report be sent to City Council members. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Schuler, to approve the 2016 Landmarks <br />Commission Annual Report with the additional goal of supporting the Olmsted Historical <br />Society, motion passed 7-0. <br />Committee Work <br />Ms. Rambo-Ackerman stated that the City employees have been tasked with going through their <br />archives and disposing of records according to their approved RC-2, Schedule of Records <br />Retention and Disposition. As part of this, some records need to be assessed for historical value <br />prior to being destroyed, which means the Commission will need to review the documents. She <br />suggested creating a committee to review the records and make a determination. Mr. Dubelko <br />asked about the capacity for Olmsted Historical Society to accept the documents deemed <br />historically valuable by the Landmarks Commission. He also suggested digitizing the files. Mr. <br />Dubelko and Mr. Limpert volunteered to review the records. Mr. Morse and Ms. Schuler <br />volunteered to review the Historic Preservation Plan to update it. Mr. Schumann volunteered to <br />be chair of the committee to review Old Town Hall Renovation efforts with the City, along with <br />Mr. Dubowski. Mr. Neville volunteered to be the chair of the committee to review the design and <br />placement of the Historic District signage, along with Mr. Schumann. <br />Studio Graphique Signage <br />The Commission discussed the process of designing the new historic district signage with the <br />consultant, Studio Graphique. Discussion toolc place regarding sign placements, including at all <br />entryways into tha district, banners and multiple sizes depending on traffic. <br />Proposed Zoning Code Upclate <br />Mr. Aspery stated that a zoning code update open house will be held on February 22, 2017 in the <br />Council Chambers and the Planning and Design Commission public hearing will follow. He <br />reviewed the proposed zoning update map, which shows four different business districts within <br />the City and what the districts would mean for future development projects. Mr. Schumann <br />added that the commercial zoning codes are going to be updated along with the changes to the <br />zoning map. He pointed out that Master Plans since 2000 have pointed out the need for zoning <br />updates. Mr. Schumann pointed out that the City property will be zoned residential and the goal <br />will be to create a"civic triangle" area between Dover Center, Lorain, and Butternut Ridge <br />Roads. He invited all of the commissioners to the open house and public hearing. <br />Thompson House <br />Mr. Neville stated that OHS has raised an additional $1,700 for Thompson House renovations.
