LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AMENDED MINUTES FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF JULY 17, 2017 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. <br />Present: David Neville, Jim Morse, Duane Limpert, Gretchen Schuler, Sarah Egan-Reeves, Tom <br />Dubowski, Paul Schumann <br />Absent: Jim Dubelko <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo-Ackerman <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to excuse the absence of Mr. Dubelko, <br />motion passed 7-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Neville asked that "bicentennial" be changed to "centennial" in the discussion of 25961 <br />Kennedy Ridge Road. Ms. Schuler asked that "still" be removed from the Historic Preservation <br />, <br />Plan section. <br />Ms. Schuler moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to approve the minutes of June 12, 2017 <br />as amended, motion passed 7-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />17-9051; Paul Accordino; 25747 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Representative: Paul Accordino, owner <br />Mr. Accordino said the home caught fire on May 18th. Mr. Neville asked about the insurance <br />claim and Mr. Accordino said the claim was for 75% of the home's value. Mr. Accordino <br />believed that the wood of the house was 30-40 years older than the county auditor lists the home <br />as. The wood paneling is gone and some of the floor joists between the basement and first floor <br />are gone. The insurance amounts to over $200,000 in damages. Mr. Schumann was able to view <br />the home prior to it being boarded up and saw the extent of the damage. Mr. Accordino stated <br />that the insurance investigator believes the electrical panel behind the refrigerator was the source <br />of the fire. The kitchen cannot be entered due to the damage. Mr. Aspery stated that Mr. Weston <br />of the NOFD was in favor of demolition due to safety concerns. Mr. Accordino was interested in <br />trying to salvage some pieces, such as the banister or the wood fireplace. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to approve a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for demolition of the home for 17-9051; Paul Accordino; 25747 Butternut <br />Ridge Road, motion passed 7-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS
