commission is charged to follow the Department of Interior rules. Mr. Schumann asked the
contractor to send addresses for other homes that have been sided with the material in the area
and clarified that the siding would have a beveled edge. All of the base trim would be fiber-
cement, the window headers would be custom made of wood and replaced, and the existing
gussets would remain. Mr. Goch believed Hardie board is more cost-effective for homeowners
over time. Cleveland, Olmsted Falls, Ohio City and Tremont have had homes installed with the
Hardie board. The proposed siding would match the current color of the home. The shadow line
on the fiber cement is slightly smaller than wood siding but would not be very noticeable. Mr.
Limpert said the work could still be done after the next meeting if the proposal is tabled.
Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowksi, to table 17-9330; Bruce Pearson; 26944
Butternut Ridge Road, motion passed 7-0.
C OIVIMiJNI CATIONS
Centennial Home Program
23685 Gessner Road
The OHI states that the home was built in 1913. Mr. Neville believed it qualifies for the program.
Mr. Morse pointed out that there was a title transfer in 1912 which would help support the house
being built in 1913.
Mr.1Vlorse moved, seconded by Mr. Limpert, to approve the Centennial Home certificate
for 23685 Gessner Road, motion passed 7-0.
Committee Work Updates
Records
Ms. Rambo-Ackerman stated that she went through Lois Van Auken's files and they are ready to
be reviewed by the subcommittee.
Historic Preservation Plan
Mr. Morse reviewed the plan draft and believed it was ready for the commission's review. He
asked that the previous plan be sent to the commissioners for them to compare with the draft.
The Biddulph, Knight-Biddulph, and Seltzer homes were added. The Ohio Historical markers
have not changed but they were included as a goal. The new report reflects the financial
improvements of the City since 2009. Mr. Limpert suggested an appendix of the Centennial
Home properties.
Old Town Hall
Ms. Egan-Reeves joined the committee for the Old Town Hall Renovation. Mr. Schumann stated
that the architect has more plans to be reviewed at a meeting.the following week.
Biddulph Sign Proposal
Mr. Neville spoke with the Eagle Scout to prepare him for the meeting.
