Mr. Schumann liked the proposal and was grateful that the Boy <br />Scouts have taken good care of the home. Mr. Neville added that a small bush was removed <br />where the landscape area currently is. Mr. Musial clarified that the North Olmsted Foundation <br />cares for the property and the Boy Scouts are able to use the property. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for 17-9359; Biddulph Home; 25896 Buttera?ut Ridge 12oad for a new sign <br />shown as example two in the packet, motion passed 6-0. <br />17-9655; Oliver povle; 27570 Butternut Rid2e 12oad <br />Representative: Oliver poyle, owner <br />Proposal consists of a detached garage. <br />Mr. Doyle stated that the garage would be installed next to the fence. Mr. Neville believed that a <br />garage similar to the style of house would be cost prohibitive. Mr. Dubowski clarified with the <br />applicant that the existing driveway will be extended about ten feet and a slab will be poured. <br />Mr. Dubelko pointed out that the home was moved in the 1980s from the o1d City Hall complex <br />and believed it might have been the Finance Department. Mr. Schumann asked about colors of <br />the siding and roof. Mr. Doyle stated that the door will be beige with hardware to match the <br />original door on the side of the home. Mr. Dubelko suggested to the applicant to look at the <br />County Archives for photos of the home before it was moved. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Egan-Reeves, to approve the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for 17-9655; Oliver poyle; 27570 Butternut Ridge Road for a new garage <br />with the following conditions: <br />1. Garage shingles shall match those on the house. <br />2. Siding vaill be the color of the sample provided and the door and trim will be beige. <br />Motion passed 6-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Committee V6TOrk Updates <br />Historic Preservation Plan <br />Mr. Aspery believed the commission and staff need to think bigger in terms of the 2017 Plan. <br />When the 2009 Plan was created, it was a first-of-its-kind document for the Commission. He asked <br />for input on what goals, objectives and action items the commission should focus on under the <br />four main goal areas: Preservation, Regulation, Documentation and Education/Awareness. <br />Old Town Hall <br />Mr. Schumann stated that two meetings occurred with the architect since the last Landmarks <br />Commission meeting. He reviewed the proposed changes including returning the fagade to the <br />original state, removal of the bathrooms since they will be in the addition and ADA compliance <br />measures. City Council has not approved funding for the project yet, but Mr. Schumann would <br />like support of the Commission before it is presented to Council.
