The property is zoned <br />One Family Residence-C. The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 9 ft. variance for width of the driveway; code does not allow a driveway to be wider than <br />the width of the attached garage, applicant shows driveway with a 9 ft. addition in width at <br />the garage tapering to tHe sidewalk, Section 1135.02(2)(c). <br />2. A variance for a parking pad in the side yard; code does not allow, applicant shows a side <br />yard parking pad, Section 1135.02(3)(a). <br />Mr. Aspery stated that the applicant is requesting variances for driveway width and parking pad <br />location at their home on Ambour Drive. Code requires a driveway providing access to an <br />attached garage be no wider than the width of the garage; the applicant shows the driveway <br />extending 9 feet past the widest portion of the garage. Code also requires a paxking pad only be <br />constructed in the rear yard of a residential lot not fronting an arterial street; the applicant shows <br />the proposed pad in their side yard, requiring a variance. <br />Mr. Fadel stated that he intends to widen the driveway to allow for more cars in his driveway and <br />to provide for easier maintenance and service use for trash and waste removal. Mr. Allain asked <br />the distance from the corner of the garage and the new concrete addition, with Mr. Fadel <br />confirming that the distance is approximately 8 feet 8 inches. Board members discussed the <br />layout of the driveway in relation to the neighboring property, noting how the unique driveway <br />layout lends itself to this pavement approach.
