CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />NIINUTES OF OCTOBER 17, 2018 <br />6:30PM ' <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Jackie Chavez Anderson, Leah Rogalski Davis, Janelle Zauner, Jenny Taylor, Annie <br />Kilbane, Laura Simna, Stephanie Procter <br />Absent: Wilma Kepperley, Jennifer Scofield, Sue Collander <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Leah moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of September 19, 2018, seconded by <br />Stephanie, motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Open Mic Ni2ht at Springvale Coffeehouse I October 18 <br />Jackie thanked the group for their coordination of the second Open Mic Night event. Leah <br />confirmed that Bob Sammon will be serving as the host. All 7 performers are singer/songwriters <br />for this event, with the first performance beginning at 6:30pm. Past performers were contacted to <br />participate in this event, but none reached out to reserve a spot. It was agreed that a different <br />performer outreach approach should be utilized for the next event. James confirmed that Ty <br />Craemer will return to run sound for the event. A 150-piece assorted pastry tray from Fragapane's <br />will be provided along with regular and decaffeinated coffee using Springvale percolators. <br />Springvale staff will be on hand to tend to the percolators and the cash bar like last time. James <br />confirmed that Tom Baracskai, the current artist on display at City Hall, will be displaying a few <br />of his art pieces at the event. Janelle suggested that Polaris Pastry Arts be invited to provide pastries <br />for the next event if they are not attending the Mayor's Art Show. Members agreed to arrive at <br />Springvale around S:OOpm to begin setting up prior to doors opening at 6:00pm. Janelle and Wilma <br />will be arranging centerpieces while the rest of the group will work on arranging the pastries, <br />coffee supplies and tables. <br />North Olmsted Noel I December 2 <br />Leah confirmed that Crooked Kettle Popcorn, Pierogi Pantry, Homemade by Hannah and Sauced <br />food truck are all confirmed to attend. Angie Obbish and her daughter are interested but may be <br />out of town, so they remain a tentative vendor. Leah will attempt to reach out to one more dessert <br />vendor for the Cabin but feels confident in the current arrangement. Janelle stated that Adam <br />Hudak of the NOFD is committed to providing a small fire with barriers; straw bales were <br />recommended, so she will work on obtaining them for use around the fire. Annie will coordinate <br />a fire truck escort for the Santa performers to arrive on at 3:00pm. James shared that Sue will work <br />the hot chocolate station along with Stephanie and Boy Scout Troop 664 volunteers. Jenny will <br />move inside to oversee the balloon selfie station being created by Stephanie. A snowman photo <br />station will be at the hot chocolate station on the patio. Stephanie asked to have a North Olmsted <br />Education Foundation craft table at the event, which was unanimously agreed. Jackie and Leah
