CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS CONIlViISSION <br />NIINUTES OF MARCH 21, 2018 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Jackie Chavez Anderson, Annie Kilbane, Leah Rogalski Davis, Laura Simna <br />Absent: Jenny Taylor, Lauren Suter, Janelle Zauner, Wilma Kepperley <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Annie moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of February 21, 2018, seconded by Leah, <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Yoga in the Park I March 3 • <br />Jackie and Leah thought that the first event went over very well, with over 50 people in <br />attendance. The PA system worked well to play music in the Cabin and will work well when the <br />classes move outside in warmer weather. <br />Mavor's Art Show I March 27 <br />James reminded the group of their artwork hanging on March 23rd, 10:30am at City Hall <br />and the gallery opening event on March 27th, 6:00-7:30pm at City Hall. <br />Earth Fair I Apri122 <br />The group discussed preparations for the event on Sunday, Apri122nd. Leah confirmed the <br />anticipated vendors and asked Jackie and James to follow up with Rust Belt Riders. James <br />confirmed that he will follow up with sponsors for payment, but the current sponsor total was <br />$500. He and Jackie will work together to coordinate tke butterfly release using these funds. <br />James will finalize the event layout and signage in the weeks leading up to the event. Wilma <br />confirmed Girl Scout volunteer help in an email received prior to the meeting. Outdoor games <br />will be provided by Parks & Rec along with designated staff inembers to assist attendees. Spring <br />Mist Farms has been notified of the group's preference for cage-free animals in their petting zoo. <br />Citv Beautification Event I June 2 <br />The group agreed that the Bike Path Beautification event will be on Saturday, June 2°d beginning <br />at 12:00pm at the Oxcart Pantry. Work will include painting trash can lids and a trail cleanup. <br />Jackie and Annie added that this could tie into the Yoga in .the Park event earlier in the morning. <br />James will coordinate with the NOHS Art Department, but the event will go forward regardless <br />of their participation. <br />Movie in the Park Activitv I June 15 <br />It was agreed by all that no designated activity will be planned in advance, but a small activity <br />could be organized closer to the date.
