Proposal consists of signage. Property is zoned Limited Industry-Industrial Park.
The following variance is requested:
1. A 1 ft. 1 in. variance for height of a wall sign; wall signs may not exceed 4 ft. in height,
applicant shows proposed sign 5 ft. 1 in. high, Section 1163.28(c).
Mr. Aspery said the applicant is proposing to install a 5 foot 1 inch tall, 43.21 square foot
illuminated wall sign on the southwest corner of their existing building. Code allows a maximum
sign height of 4 feet for wall signs, therefore requiring a variance of 1 foot 1 inch. The existing
monument sign will also be refaced in accordance with applicable sign regulations. Mr. Iafigliola
stated that the logo has a capital "S" with a"C" in it so most of the measured sign area would be
empty. The only people who would be able to see the sign would be on Industrial Parkway. They
considered keeping the sign within the code but the smaller sign did not look right. Mr. Kunzen
agreed that the smaller sign would get lost in the top of the building. Mr. Papotto believed they
were nice looking signs. Mr. Mackey believed the sign will help customers find the building.
Mr. Mackey moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto, to approve the following variance fop 18-
10983; Schirmer Construction; 31350 Industrial Parkway:
1.
