LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLIVISTED <br />MINUTES FOR 1VIEETIlVG OF JUNE 11, 2018 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Sarah Egan-Reeves, Elizabeth Cardarelli, Kevin Kearney, Tom <br />Dubowski, Jim Morse (after minutes were approved) <br />Absent: David Neville, Gretchen Schuler <br />Staff: Planning Director Kim Lieber, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Planner James <br />Aspery, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo-Ackerman <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Egan-Reeves moved, seeonded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the Landmarks <br />Commission minutes of 1VIay 14, 2018, motion passed 5-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />18-11296; Havannah Propertv Management, LLC; 27370 Butternut Ridge lZoad <br />Representatives: April Clay & Darian Dunning, Havannah Property Management, LLC, 4360 <br />Bagdad Road, Medina, OH <br />Mr. Aspery stated that the applicant is proposing a complete exterior renovation of the property, <br />which is a Cape Cod style home constructed in 1927. A new 30-year architectural asphalt roof is <br />proposed for the entire house. New white aluminum gutters are proposed. Two existing windows <br />will be replaced with double hung vinyl windows with the rest to remain. Two new white <br />fiberglass doors will be installed to replace the existing side entry and garage entry doors. The <br />exterior of the home will be painted and all damaged wood shake and trim will be replaced with <br />lilce materials. The existing deck will be repainted, new steps will be constructed to replace an <br />existing ramp and new lattice work will be installed near the base. The front porch will be <br />cleaned and painted a new color from the building palette and new stone will be installed to <br />cover the existing brick. The existing asphalt driveway will be seal coated. The existing detached <br />garage will remain and will have a new double carriage door installed. <br />Ms. Clay stated that the roof was torn off already. She said that the box garden window on the <br />east side will be replaced by a plain double-hung window. Mr. Schumann asked about the three <br />windows on the porch, Ms. Clay stated that they would be repaired, keeping the style and <br />configuration of lites, and the front door would remain as is. Ms. Cardarelli believed the brick <br />would be more appropriate for the style of the home than the stone proposed. She added that the <br />mortar may need to be replaced to prevent further deterioration. Mr. Schumann did not oppose <br />the proposed colors. Ms. Clay proposed painting the brick a deep gray color. Mr. Kearney <br />believed that any improvement would be better than the current condition of the home. Ms. <br />Cardarelli pointed out that the porch is the focal point of the home and would have been <br />important when the home was built. Mr. Schumann did not think the brick was a high quality
