PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AMENDED MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 14, 2018 ROLL CALL Mr. Malone called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Greg Malone, Julie Nader, Dave Anderson, Darrick Matthews, Tom Patton, Paul Schumann Absent: Don Rerko Staff: Planning and Development Director Kim Lieber, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo-Ackerman, Fire Inspector Mark Weston Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Ms. Nader, to excuse the absence of Mr. Rerko, motion passed 6-0. COMMISSION ORGANIZATION Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to appoint Mr. Malone as chair for 2018, motion passed 6-0. Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to appoint Ms. Nader as vice chair for 2018, motion passed 6-0. Mr. Malone nominated Mr. Schumann for the Landmarks Commission, which passed 6-0. Mr. Matthews nominated himself for the Housing Council, which passed 6-0. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Mr. Anderson, to approve the Planning and Design Commission minutes of December 13, 2017, motion passed 6-0. NEW BUSINESS 18-10479; Amani's Learning Center; 28640 Brookpark Road Extension Representative: Fida Suleiman, 1339 Warren Rd, Lakewood, OH Ms. Lieber stated that the proposal consists of a conditional use permit for a new day care facility. The property is zoned B-4 Mixed-use Business. Day cares and child care centers are conditional uses in the B-4 district, subject to both the general criteria in Chapter 1118 and specific standards for this use. Regarding specific standards, outdoor play areas must be enclosed by a secure fence at least four feet high. Play areas may not be located within a required yard. The drop-off/pick-up area shall be of sufficient length and design to ensure that all vehicle stacking and maneuvering occurs within the facility property and does not extend into the
