Puzzitiello said it would be seen by people who are walking by. Mr. Engoglia informed the
applicant that a concrete wall can be used.
Councilman Paul Barker came forward and asked if the Board could give in a little bit. He
informed the Board that this family has been a long time resident of Ward 2 and this new home
will only enhance the neighborhood. Although Mr. Engoglia understands what Mr. Barker is
saying, in good conscience, he is just trying to maintain the standards of the City. The contractor
said he would be willing to bring the siding 4" from the grade. The Board informed the
applicant that window wells would not be necessary.. Much of the wall will not be seen because
landscaping will be planted around the sides and back. Donna Smeal, a resident to the south of
the Kort's residence, does not have a problem with what is proposed.
Mrs. Kort informed the Board that there are homes on the street now that do not have brick
around the foundation. Mr. Engoglia informed them that those were done prior to the laws being
changed.
Mr. Althen moved to approve vinyl siding going down 4" to finished grade. Mr. Engoglia
seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.
V.
