. _ t
Mrs. Brown indicated that the last meeting to review the proposed art work for the library
would be held September 8, 2005 at the library and would start at 10:00 am. She believed
that the commissioned art piece depicting the ox cart library was reviewed by Mayor
O'Grady earlier in the day and she is hoping that the suggested corrections were incorporated
into the final outcome. At the next meeting dates are to be chosen for the reception, and she
believes the preliminary date is in October sometime. The commissioned art piece depicting
the first ox cart library is to be located on the left wall as you enter the library. At the last
meeting a space for local artists to display their work was discussed and they hope to discuss
it again. Mr. Yustick believed that the opposite wall would be a good location for local
artists to display their work as awards are won. Commissioners voiced their frustrations that
the work commissioned and chosen for the new library did not include any local artists or
anything depicting the local area. Commissioners felt that the art work should have been
from 'local artists, and depict events in and within North Olmsted, but not one piece of the
very expensive work chosen reflects North Olmsted or their artists.
V. COMMUNICATIONS:
Mr. Garland indicated that he would check with the clerk to see if any of the flyers passed
out at homecoming were returned. The commission discussed possibly being more involved
in the homecoming and possibly having a few tents of their own. It was noted that looking at
the Administrative tent from the outside, looked like it was strictly for the recreation center.
It was not until you entered the tent that anyone would know that it represented all the
departments within the City Administration.
VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
VII. ADJOURNMENT:
With no further business pending Chairman Garland adjourned the meeting at 8:30 pm.
Rolanarland Chairman Date: 10-? _G3 ?onna Rote Crk of Commissi
??? 4%?
