Martinda.le, Commissioner's; G. Yustick, B. Brown, a.nd D. Frazier <br />ABSENT: <br />Commissioner's; C. Birney, and R. Garland. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF Iv1INUTES: <br />B. Brown moved to approve the June 1, 2005 Cultural Activities Commission minutes as <br />written. D. Frazier seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />III. NE`N BUSINESS: <br />• Discussion of sta ered appointments for Cultural Activities Commission members: <br />o Nominate 2 new members for the board: <br />Coanmissioners discussed Mrs. Brown asking her Churches Music Group if anyone was <br />interested in joining the Culturai Activities Commission. Nlrs. Martindale would speak with <br />former Mayor Bonnie Petrigac about joining the commission. The Commission would like a <br />member who could Pepresent contacts in the field of music. Coffimissaoners felt that the faeld <br />of graphic/physical artists was represented a.nd a second person from perfornaing art:s was <br />needed. Mrs. Brown voiced that she would try to talk with her church group for possible <br />names. Mr. Yustick thought a flyer could be made to have at the 2005 Homecoming <br />introducing the commissgon. <br />• Update on finances for Art Show - Homecomin 2g 006: <br />Mr. Yustick indicated that he would continue to look into what is required to sponsox an art <br />show with Hognecoming. Mrs. Iylartindale thought they shouid get a list of prices for the <br />booths, security fees, and if artist leave the work at the booths or take it home each night. <br />Mr. Frazier questioned if the commission was going to sponsor a booth for the upcoming <br />Homecoming or for 2006. It was agreed that it would have to be for the 2006 Homecoming. <br />Commissioners discusserl that at other shows the artist's supply their ovrn tents. Different aa°t <br />clubs were discussed ancl the fact that it was hard for tlie coYnanission to sponsor or encourage <br />the arts to be more active in North Oltnsted without lcnawledge of the different groups out <br />there or the means to reach them. Commissioners briefly voiced their frezstrations regarding <br />being claarged wittn pxoffioting the aYts yet nof allowed to have the ffunds/budget to caary out <br />their charge. <br />• Discuss new Master Plan and beein inauirv of the Dlace "Arts" are to have: <br />Mrs. Martindale questioned if any members had read the new 1Vlaster Plan and if they had <br />was there any ffienfion of the arts in general or a performing arts building. Mr. Frazier said <br />he received a copy of the neva Master Plan but oaily briefly breezed through it. Mrs. <br />Martindale questioned if the gerforming arts was addressed specifically or even briefly. Mr. <br />Frazier was not sure. Mrs. Martindale said she read in the news paper about the Master Plan <br />Ms. Va7enger completed and how it would not end up book ends and would be followed. She <br />spoke to workers at Old Town Hall and the workers said they were being moved out and that
