. .
.
Mrs. Lord advised that she had pictures to give to Mr. Schumann of the church being moved to
the Frostville Museum.
Mrs. Lord questioned where the commission was in terms of completing the CLG application.
Mr. Lang advised that the only thing left to do was to sit down with Ms. Wenger to go over the
paperwork to finalize everything. He suggested that Ms. Wenger stated that she would provide
a map of all the historical markers within the city. Ms. Lord questioned if there was any way
the commission could meet with Ms. Wenger to finalize everything to be sent to the printers to
use the money before it is taken at the end of the year. Mr. Barker believed that the commission
should just ask for the $250.00 again in 2006.
The commission reviewed that they wanted to renew their memberships and would need to
request more than what was received for 2005. They would lilce to renew memberships to Ohio
Historical Society, National Trust Form, National Alliance of Preservation, Cleveland
Restoration, and Frostville Museum requiring $450.00 for 2006 memberships. The commission
would like to have funds for date strips and to replace the Old Town Hall plaque requiring a
total of $1,050.00. Mr. Barker questioned if steps were being taken to transfer Ms. VanAuken's
slideshow presentation into a power point presentation. SITES student Drew Tedick suggested
that the next semester SITES students would be working with Mr. Schumann to get the work
completed. The commission discussed possibly creating a disc of all the historical photos the
commission has and then having prints made to make sure they have actual pints. Discussion
ensued regarding the Landmarlcs Commission owning a digital camera. Funds for conferences
the commission would like to attend $300.00 and $300.00 for printing and framing photos.
Mr. Barker advised that Council recently received a memo from the Mayor advising that it is his
intent to renew all three members terms. He suggested that the only thing that could change is
who their Council member and Planning & Design member was for 2006.
Mr. Schock informed the commission that he received an e-mail advising that Case Western
Reserves University would be tearing down 2 historical buildings which has stone columns and
urns and they have no use for it so if there is anyone interested it is free on a first come first
serve bases. The columns are 30 to 40 feet high and the urns are 3 feet high. All the stones
around the buildings, balusters, spindles, window frames it is all free for the taking. The site is
the old nurse's dorm off of lOSth street and the original Hospital. They wanted to save the
building but found that structurally they could not be saved.
VII.
