Mr. Schiunann suggested that a committee meet with the Mayor or City Council to <br />voice their concern about saving the Stearns home. <br />Mrs. Lord voiced that it did not pay to talk nice to the City as they learned when the <br />Kennedy home was demolished for the Park N Ride. The Commission tried to talk to the <br />City to save the original structure which was more significant than the Stearns home and <br />that fell on dead ears. Mr. Schumann advised that the Stearns hoffie would cost about <br />$50,000 to move to Frostville. 1VIrs. Lord believed that if they were going to do sornething <br />they needed to do it befope it was too late. Mr. I.,ang sta.ted he was told t11at there was <br />insignificant land to the east to use as a driveway or access to the back. He does not believe <br />that plans have been drawn as of yet and believes the deadline is April for plans. <br />I3iscussion ensued regarding recommending the Stearns home be nominated as a city <br />landmark. Mr. Schock advised the Commission that they should meet with the Mayor to <br />inform him of their intent as it could become a political issue. <br />T. Schock moved to nominate the Stearns home for I.ocal Landmark status. B. Lord <br />seconded the mo4ion which vvas unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Lang, Mrs. Lord and Mrs. Thogmartin volunteered to be the sub-committee to gather <br />required docurnentation fox the Stearns home's next step of noinination. <br />P. Schumann moved to have the Chairman create a committee to meet with Mayor <br />O'Grady at his earliest convenience and prior to the commissions November meeting. <br />L. Thogmartin seconded the motion, vvhich evas unanimously approved. <br />Chairman Lang appointed himself, Mr. Schock and P. Schumann to the committee to meet <br />with Mayor O'Grady prior to the commissions November meeting to discuss the Stearns <br />home. <br />Vi. OLD BUSTNESS: <br />VII. ADJOUISNMENT; <br />M.
