•'" - i CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />HELD IN OLD TOWN HALL <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2005 <br />MINUTES <br />1. ROLL CALI,: <br />Chairman Lang called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm. <br />PRESENT: Chairman J. Lang; Commissioners; B. Lord, M. Davis, D. Rerko, L. <br />Thogmartin, P. Barker, and T. Schock. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Applicant, Bill Miller . <br />ABSENT: Commission members; P. Schumann, and R. Bohlmann <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Mr. Lang advised that under Committee Reports the word sites should read SITES. <br />B. Lord moved to approve the July 11, 2005 Landmarks minutes as corrected. M. <br />Davis seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />III. RECEPTION OF VISITORS: <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />William & Judith Miller; 25455 Butternut Ridge Road: <br />Proposal consists of a request for a letter of appropriateness for a shed <br />Mr. Lang advised that the applicant wanted to construct a 16' x 12' x 11' shed in the rear of <br />his property. There is a play area which has a chain link fence around it and is separated <br />from the rest of the yard. The shed would be placed lieyond the fenced in play area and be <br />about 175 feet from the house and 10-feet off the rear property line. Mr. Schock asked the <br />proximity of the shed in conjunction to old Columbia Road. Mr. Miller believed that the <br />shed would be 400 feet north of old Columbia Road closer to his home. The shed would be <br />out of view as it would be placed behind existing landscaping. The need for the shed is to <br />house the lawn care equipment needed to maintain his large lot. The color of the shed would <br />closely match the color of the existing home as well as the shingles used on the home. Mr. <br />Schock advised that all future utilities to the shed are to be placed underground. <br />B. Lord moved to approve a letter of appropriateness to construct a 16'x12'x11' shed <br />located as described in the building permit application, any future utilities are to be <br />connected underground, shed color and shingles are to match the existing home. T. <br />Schock seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />A. Memo to Council appointing Laura B. Thogmartin to Landmarks Commission for the <br />term of 01/01/05-12/31/06. <br />B. L•etter to Halleen KIA from Landmarks Commission <br />C.
