1VIr. Lang congratulated Mr. Barker for his appointment to Council arad for retuming to <br />Landmazks as Council's representative. Mr. Barkea° thanked the ehairrnan aaid suggested Mr. <br />Schumann being a member of the Historical Society could possibly recommend a Historical <br />Member to fill his previous position on Landmarks. He further announced that the CLC'i <br />legislation was going to be discussed at the Board of Zoning and Development Committee <br />meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 21, 2005 @ 6:30 pm. in case commissioners had <br />corrections or additions to the legislation request or wished to attend. Mrs. Lord questioned if the <br />legislation request should ffiention tlie f-tmds Landffiazks was granted for the first step of the CLG <br />application which was the sutvey that was coffipleted. Mrs. Lord thought that there would be <br />more eontinuity if the legislation mentioned that Landmarks had been working in conjunction <br />with the City for the past 20 years having RIorth Olmsted become a Certified Local Government. <br />W. Schwxiann announced that the Barton Itoad chugcfln was placed on b8ams and ready for the <br />move on Jixne 21, 2005, starting at 9:00 azn. If the commission wishes copies they need to authoaize the clerk to <br />puFChase CD Re-Writeable disc. Mrs. Lord requested that in the future the clerk print out aIl <br />applicants' home from that data base for the Commissioner's packets. <br />1VIrs. Lord and'ncatesl that in her efforts to get ffiore informatiom mn the Steatns home she caffie <br />across her copy of the "Crisfield Johrmson History of Olmsted", a.nd made copies of the <br />documents for each of the comYnissioner's. She is not sare of the year it was written but the <br />information goes back to 1879. Although it does not include the Dover section it does have <br />soffie history on the Stearns family. David Iohnson Steams lived to be very old aaid was a <br />prorninent resident ixi 0lrristed which included Olmsted Falls, the Z'ownship and part of North <br />Oimsted and was honored as tbe f rst resident. If the board wishes to address the Steams home <br />the packet would be a good starting place. 1V1r. Schock voiced that Landmarks should get the <br />Steamss home listed in tlae National Registry. The board dascussed plaques and regastering a <br />home without a homeowrner's consent and the benefit of listiang hnstorical hoanes. Mrs. Lord <br />beIieved the Steams home to be listed on the Ohio Inventory, but not the National Registry.
