Lang indicated that he received a phone ca11 from Kubiak with the Historical Society
indicating that they had found the plaque for the Carpenter home and they wauld like to
reinstall the plaque on the home. However, they need to receive a date from Landmarks
indicating what year the home received a plaque. Mrs. Lord thought that the informatian
may be in Landmazks files. Landmarks files found that Council approved the plaque on
June 11, 1981 and Mr.& Mrs. Jack Boss received that plaque on February 18, 1982.
Mr. Lang received a phone ca11 from a Butternut Ridge resident Loraine Schuld who wishes
to preserve her home historically and is looking to replace twenty two windows with Marvin
double hung clad outside, inside wood windows and she does not want to discard the
original windows and wanted to know if the Landmarks Commission would like the 22
windows. She has offered the original windows to not only Landmarks but the Historical
Society, the Cleveland Restora.tion SocietX and many other preservation societies. The
commission thought the windows were from the 1920's. The commission was not sure how
they could use them or store them. Mr. Schock suggested the windows be donated to
Habitat for Humanity as they have a warehouse and. take donations and then sale the
recycled products for reuse.
Mr. Lang reviewed he spoke vvith Butternut Ridge resident Mr. James Leek who re-roofed
his home had requested Landmarks represent him in his choice to not vent lus roof to
maintain the integrity. Upon speaking with the Building Commissioner Mr. Lang was
advised that Landmarks did not have the authority to waive requirements of the building
codes.
V. CONMIUNICATIONS:
A.
