IVlemo from Chaixman regarding waiving permit fees for Barton Church
VIa COMMITTEE REPOR'TS:
Mr. Lang announced that work to move the Barton Road Church would be starting on
Saturday, April 16, 2005. The Historieal Society was interested in the Commission putting
the word out that they were looking for volunteers. Mr. Schumann passed out pictures of
styles similar to Frostville and reviewed where the church would be placed. He indicated
that they hope to acquire 4 more buildings for the site. He reviewed a photo depicting what
the church would look like once restored. gie indicated that the church was built in a style
similar to the Unitarian and reviewed the work which was scheduled to be done on the
restoration of the church. The Historical Society believes that the original Church was
constructed in the 1840's some time. Mr. Barkes indicated that Mr. Gareau Jr. started
legislation to wave the City fees for the church. He believes that the total fees equaled
$2,800.00 and the legislation should be before Council shortly. He believes that if there are
City fees they would be very minimal.
Mr. Lang reported that all documents were secured for the CLG application and the
committee just needed to meet and put the packet together.
VII. OLD BUSINESS:
Mr. Lang informed the commission that he received a minor change letter from the
building department for Mr. Jason T'imms of 25527 Butternut Ridge Road for the
installation of an addition to an existing deck which would be approximately 16' x 20'. He
reminded the commissioners that Mr. Timms had gone before Landmarks on two prior
occasions once for a pole barn and once for the existing deck. Mr. Conway's letter
indicates that if he does not hear from landmarks within ten days he will approve the
request under the minor change format. The Commission briefly discussed, passed
requests and the position of the proposed deck addition.
P. Barker moved to approve the construction of a 16' x 20' deck as shown in Mr. Timms
documents under the minor change format. B. Lord seconded the motion which was
unanimously approved.
2
