<br />CITY OF NORTH OI.MSTEI) <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />IN OLD TOWN HALL <br />MARCH 14, 2005 <br />MINUTES <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Lang called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman J. Lang, Board members; P. Schumann, T. Schock, B. Lord, B. <br />Davis, P. Barker, and G. Nashar. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, and Site Student; Rob Charvat. <br />ABSENT: Commission members; D. Rerko and R. Koeth. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF 1VIINiJTES: <br />Landmarlcs minutes dated February 14, 2005 have been submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Schock requested the following corrections to the February 14, 2005 minutes; change <br />Frostville Museum schedule to Barton Church schedule. Periodic changes clarifying who <br />was spealcing were requested. He also requested the minutes reflect that no downspouts are <br />to be on the front of the KIA building. The minutes should read tree lawn instead of <br />landscape area in the KIA discussion and again in the KIA motion. <br />B. Lord moved to approve the February 14, 2005 minutes as corrected. B. Davis <br />seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />III. RECEPTION OF VISITORS: <br />Mrs. Johanna Oblov of 26010 Butternut Rid eoad; Is seeking information regarding <br />obtaining a plaque for a historical home. <br />. ?, <br />Mr. Lang welcomed Mrs. Obloy to the meeting. Mr. Lang indicated that the documentation <br />received in the commissioners packets stated the home was built in 1905. It is a gray, vinyl <br />sided, two-story colonial. In terms of age the home qualifies for recognition in the historic <br />inventory. He advised that the commission had a two step process for the home to receive a <br />plaque. He gave Mrs. Obloy a questionnaire to fill out and return. Mrs. Lord indicated that <br />the City had unofficial title information on the home, which would need to be confirmed. <br />Landmarlcs information span from one of the first owners, James Saunders through 1981. <br />She believed that the original owners were the Biddulph family. The Commission advised <br />Mrs. Obloy that she would need to set up an appointment with the Cuyahoga County <br />Archives, to research the past owners. Mr. Lang said he would provide a copy of the <br />Cities' documentation to the applicant to assist her in her research. <br />IV. NEW BUSIloTESS: <br />Mr. Lang advised that the commission needed a legislative request to go any further with <br />the CLG application process. Mr. Nashar advised that if the clerk found that the Mayor <br />does not want to sponsor a legislative request for Landmarlcs Commission then he would <br />sponsor the request.
