? The commission questioned if the Kiwanis Club and Frostville was still interested in having an
art show. Mr. Knight indicated that the Kiwanis club would want more information. Mr.
Yustick suggested that if the Kiwanis called a meeting he would attend to present the art show
idea to them. Mrs. Cadwallader advised that the museum would need to know exact dates as
soon as possible as date's book very fast. There would also need to be cut-off dates set to let the
museum know that the specific number was not reached therefore the event would be canceled.
Mr. Yustick advised that there would be a cut-off date for responses and if they couldn't get at
least 50 artists it would not be worth having.
Mrs. Cadwallader advised that parking spaces are limited and if the park does not allow parking
across the street from the museum then there has to be an alternative parking plan for participants
as well as the visitors. Mrs. Cadwallader suggested the sponsors give applicants until April 15,
2006 to make sure everyone has time to respond and know for sure if the event will take place.
Mr. Schumann advised that the museum has regularly scheduled events which take place every
year and they are happy to be the venue however they can not be the sponsors. They would not
be able to provide any workers for the event as due to volunteers being unavailable. The
museum would expect to receive %z the profit earned as well as any money earned through their
concession stands. Mrs. Cadwallader advised that the museum would hold the event, make
arrangements with the Metroparks, and man their own concessions. The Kiwanis would need to
take care of any fees or tickets or arranging the layout of the tents and renting the port-a-potties.
The fee for renting handicapped port-a-potties from the Metroparks is $115.00 for the weekend.
Mr. Yusticlc suggested that he would like to see the money divided between the two
organizations involved. The commission briefly discussed inviting the North Olmsted High
School Band to perform but was advised that the entire month of August would be hard to
schedule an event as the entire month of August is band camp. Mrs. Cadwallader advised that
the show could only be open until dusk which in August is about 7:00 pm. The commission and
museum members discussed locations for setting up the vendors and possible alternative parking.
Mr. Knight advised that the Kiwanis would have to pick a member to be in charge and then they
would provide addresses for contacts for the artists and applications. The commission discussed
the possibility of the Clerk being able to print and fold flyers and assist with mailing out flyers.
Mr. O'Malley advised that he was not sure, but the commission can use the assistance of their
clerlc in carrying out commission tasks. Mr. Yustick advised that he was available to meet with
the Kiwanis Club as soon as they can call a meeting. Mr. O'Malley advised that the commission
could advertise on the City cable channel, City web site, ground signs at the North Olmsted Park
and in front of the Police Station.
IV.
