Mr. Styles also requested approval for the replacement of windows on his garage.
Mrso Lord moved to approve the replacement of the glass block windows with double
hung windows, evenly spread over the front of the garage, which is now on the west side
of the house. Motion seconded by Mrs. Thogmartin, which was unanimously approved.
Debbie Kowite, 25991 Butternut Ridge Road:
Mrs. Kowite came to the Commission to request permission to put up siding. She spoke
extensively to the commission regarding her home's exterior, noting that the home had been
painted just a few years back, and the paint was peeling. The home was built in 1950. Mr.
Rerko discussed the possibility of a structural problem creating moisture within the wood.
Mr. Schumann suggested it could be an internal issue requiring insulation and ventilation.
Mr. Schumann suggested speaking with a roofing contractor to address the issue. Mrs.
Kowite agreed that she will investigate the internal issues with the home and speak with
Sherwin Williams further about repainting the home. Mrs. Kowite plans to return to the
Landmarks Commission with her progress and any additional requests.
Donald Stalter, 27567 Butternut Rifte Road:
An additional visitor, Mr. Donald Stalter, came to ask for the Commission's opinion of
changes he was interested in making. Mr. Stalter is interested in adding a dormer onto his
home. He had already spoken with the Commission some years back regarding his plans.
The request for adding a porch to the property appeared feasible; however the Commission
suggested that Mr. Stalter research some of styles of California ranch for that period. Mr.
Stalter agreed to review and research the period and come back to the Commission with an
updated, comprehensive plan.
IV. COlVIMUNICATIONS:
Distributed recent publications.
V. COMMITTEE REPO1zTS
Education: Mr. Schumann introduced Jesse Dolar, the new SITES student with the
Landmarks Commission. Jesse has been spending time at Frostville assisting with projects.
