Schumann, L. Thogmartin. T. Schock, T. <br />Dubowski <br />ABSENT: B. Lord <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />L. Thogmartin moved to approve the July 10, 2006 minutes as written. M. Davis seconded the <br />motion which was unanimously approved. <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Michael Loeffler 27260 Butternut Ridge <br />The resident's home was built in the 1950's. Mrs. Loeffler stated that they are interested in <br />putting up a chain link fence. One side is a wood fence, which belong to the neighbors. There <br />is chain link on the back and there are trees along the side of the home which would make <br />visibility of the chain link very limited. The chain link would begin about 40 feet back from <br />the street. Mrs. Loeffler stated they will probably landscape around the fence to deter visibility. <br />The current fence belonging to the neighbor is a wood picket fence. Mrs. Davis requested that <br />they put some landscaping on either side of the gate in the front of the fence of the home. <br />M. Davis moved to grant Michael Loeffler of 27260 Buttermut Ridge a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for a chain link fence, provided there is a small bush on either side of the <br />gate located on the west side of the building. The ezisting landscaping will remain in <br />place. T. Dubowski seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />Jim Mazurkiewicz, 27304 Butternut Ridge. <br />Mr. Mazurkiewicz was present to discuss his request for the installation of a new gaxage. He <br />sta.ted that the barn that was previously in place was condemned and was torn down. He <br />presented pictures of the existing house and location of the former barn, which was 52 feet <br />back from the house. They will continue to use the existing driveway. The barn was located <br />on a 20' x 30' slab. The intent is to pour a new 18' x 20' concrete pad for the new garage. <br />The home was built in 1847, and the lot is an acre. The garage may be visible in the winter; <br />however it will be painted gray with vertical wood grain vinyl siding. There will be a white <br />vinyl garage door which will include windows. Mr. Schock was concerned with the visibility <br />of the garage from Butternut and the aluminum/vinyl doors. Mrs. Thogmartin noted that it <br />appeared that the applicant was trying to match the existing home in color and design. Mr. <br />Lasko felt that windows on the garage door would soften the front appearance of the garage and <br />suggested the use of a 6 or 9 pane type windows be used. A paneled door would also be the <br />most appropriate type door for the age of the home. Mr. Orlowski stated that the use of a wood <br />grain appearance type siding would be the most appropriate for the garage and garage door. <br />The commission felt white windows and garage door would be acceptable.
