Mrs. Lord explained that archives included the duties of maintaining the Cities historical <br />documents and receiving and maintaining anything of historical value donated or received. <br />Survey/Plaque committee works on anything related to recognition of historical sites, including <br />Landmarks Plaques which talces Council action and Historic Recognition Plaques. Mrs. Lord <br />reviewed that there were three Landmarlc plaque buildings one being Old Town Hall and the <br />others being the Universalistic Church and Barton Road Church now located in Frostville. <br />There is also a Historic Recognition plaque program which does not take Council action and <br />used to identify historic homes within the community. There are two homes which have made <br />applications for Historic Recognition but have not been completed. The Budget committee <br />only has a few months of work to create a budget each year to submit to Council, once Council <br />establishes a budget for the commission to work within the clerk advises the commission as to <br />what has been approved. The Clerlc reported that the commission would be receiving a total of <br />$500.00 for Publications/Dues for the 2006 calendar year. Mrs. Lord advised that there was Historic <br />Recognition Plaques which could be used but there were no date strips for the plaques. The <br />Commission discussed having the Archives committees double check the worlc completed by <br />the SITES students. <br />Education committee members: Paul Schumann spokesmen, Maryellen Davis member. <br />Archives members: Laura Thogmartin spolceswoman, Tom Dubowski member. <br />Plaques/Surveys members: Thomas Schoclc, Donald Rerko. The commission needs to address <br />the outstanding plaque requests. <br />Budget members: Lawrence Orlowslci <br />Mrs. Lord advised that Mr. Lang assured her that the CLG application was complete and ready <br />to be sent to Columbus, so it was now up to Planning Director Wenger to send the application to <br />Columbus. She reviewed that once the CLG application is accepted the City would be a <br />Certified Local Government and have access to funds which are not available now. She <br />explained that federal funds would be available to help the city preserve historical sites within <br />North Olmsted. <br />IV.
