Mr. Kondozer believed that the proposed use and location of the storage area was the best <br />location for Yhe use. Photos of the neighboring property were passed out which showed <br />mobile semi storage containers visible from the driveway. 1VIr. Schmidt reviewed that he had <br />looked at removing the last three sections of building wuts and moving them forward to the <br />west of the existimg storage units. Thereby creating space needed to place the outdoor <br />storage a.rea aflong the entire rear of the site a.nci would rneet a.ll City code requirements bur be <br />very visible to I-480. Mrs, Sabo a.dvised that the applicant would no longer require a <br />variance if placed as suggested. Mr. D. Conway reviewed with Mr. Schmidt his alternate <br />plan and advised that t11e proposal would not require a variance but wou.ld have to return to <br />the Planning & Design Cornmission for approval, Mr. Engoglia advised the applicant that <br />the board did not want to make things difficult for hirn but it is up to their board to uphold <br />City Codes. Mr. Schmidt reviewed that he was not aware of the situation until after he <br />received approval otlierwise he would have addressed the ma4ter earlier in the process. If <br />required he would place tlge outdoor storage area along the entire length of the rear property <br />however the vehicles would then be visible to I-480. 1Vir. Engoglia advised that that being <br />the case Mr. Schmidt would no longer require a variance. Board members voiced that they <br />felt the site was a well eons9ructed site and 1VIr. Scbtnidt was doing a good job developing it. <br />Mr. Engoglia questioned if the applicant wished to withdraw lus request or have the board act <br />on the variance requested. Mr. Conway advised that al#hough the applicant wouid not <br />require a varianee the chaaages need to be reviewed by the Planning & Design Commission. <br />Mr. Kondozer advised his client to request the boazd act on the variance requested. <br />M.
