CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION MEETING <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2006 <br />MINUTES <br />1. CAUCUS: <br />II. ROLL CALL: <br />Vice Chair Mahoney called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm. <br />PRESENT: J. Cotner, R. Bohlmann, G. Malone, M. Mahoney, and M. Meredith <br />ALSO PRESENT: Planning Director K. Wenger, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, <br />Assistant Building Commissioner T. Rymarczyk, Engineering consultant D. Collins and <br />Clerk of Commissions D. Rote. <br />ABSENT: M. Yager and J. Lasko <br />III. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />R. Bohlmann moved to approve the Planning & Design Commission minutes of November <br />15, 2006 as corrected. G. Malone seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />1. Red Lobster Restaurant; 25615 Brookpark Road: (WRD # 4) <br />Proposal consists of landscaping alterations. <br />Ms. Wenger reviewed that the proposal consisted of an amendment to approved landscape <br />plans. Red Lobster installed landscaping that did not conform to the approved plans and their <br />request for a minor change was denied; therefore, they are before the Commission for <br />recommendations and approval. <br />Mr. Keen with Darden Restaurant and Mr. Sinnette the landscaper, addressed the <br />commission. Mr. Sinnette reviewed the changes that were made in the field. He noted that <br />all the changes made were to enhance the appearance of the site it was never their intent to <br />weaken the design of the site. <br />Mr. Malone said that from pre-submission to instillation the applicants have put a lot of <br />attention into the landscaping and he thanked them for their efforts and attention to details. <br />However due to the multitude of changes that were incorporated without approval, the minor <br />change was denied. Although there are significant changes he does not believe the changes <br />made affect the overall aesthetics of the proposal. <br />M. Mahoney moved to approve the proposal for Red Lobster Restaurant of 25615 <br />Brookpark Road, which consists of landscaping alterations as submitted in the as built <br />plans marked received November 10, 2006. R. Bohlmann seconded the motion which <br />was unanimously approved. <br />2. Third Federal Savings; 26949 Lorain Road: (WRD # 4) <br />Proposal consists of demolishing existing bank and constructing a new bank with site <br />improvements. Note PDC tabled the proposal on 10/25/06 & 11/15/06.
