Create incentives that encourage the inclusion of public spaces and amenities into <br />developments. <br />Time Frame: Short range <br />Primary Responsibility: Planning <br />Supporfing Parties: Planning Commission, City Council <br />Status: In progress with Zoning Code update. <br />g. Create gateways along the major routes into the City, including features at highway <br />interchanges and aftractive new entrance signs along Lorain Road. <br />Time Frame: Long range <br />Primary Responsibility: Administration, City Council <br />Status: Some progress; trees have recently been planted at the I-480/252 <br />interchange; administration is working with appropriate parties to develop gateways at <br />252/I-440 and Lorain/Steams Road. <br />h. Continue to work with the school system and community organizations to identify more <br />areas of potential partnerships including facility and service provision. <br />Time Frame: Ongoing <br />Primary Responsibility: Administration, City Council <br />Supporting Parties: North Olmsted City Schools, Chamber of Commerce, Community <br />Organizations <br />Status: Ongoing with Recreation IVlaster Plan <br />i. Tap into the volunteer potential of the community by making volunteer opportunities more <br />widely knowrt. <br />Time Frame: Short range <br />Primary Responsibilifiy: Human Resources <br />Supporting Parties: Personnel, North Olmsted City Schools, Chamber of Commerce, <br />Commaanity Organizatiores <br />Status: Some progress fihrough improvements to City website. <br />Other Recommendations <br />Chapter 8- Community Character & Image: <br />Add the following recommendations to the Policies and Recommendations section: <br />• Create a Historic Preservation Plan for the City. <br />• Become a Certified Local Govemment through the Ohio Historic Preservation Office. <br />Chapter 9 - Focus Areas: <br />Add the following recommendation to the Policies and Recommendations section for Focus <br />Area A (West End): <br />s Evaluate industrial zoning of small parcels on west end for continued viability. <br />Chapter 90 - Implementation: <br />Represent the focus area recommendations in the Implementation Matrix.
