Introduc4ion <br />The 2005 Master Plan contains numerous policy statements and action recommendations, <br />including the following: <br />The Planning Commission should prepare an annual report summarizing the status of <br />implementation of the plan's recommendations. <br />This document serves as the Planning and Design Commission's first annual report on the <br />progress of the 2005 Master Plan. <br />Organizational Changes <br />The City govemment has gone through some organizationat chartges since the adoption of the <br />Master Plan in June 2005. They include: <br />The Planning Commission and the Architectural Review Board have merged to form the <br />Planning and Design Commission. <br />The Department of Human Resources has been renamed to become the Department of <br />Community Life Services. Along with this change, tfze Recreation Division and the <br />Springvale Golf Course have been reorganized to report to the Director of Community Life <br />Services instead of the Director of Public Safety. <br />The Department of Personnel and Administrative Services has been renamed to become <br />the Department of Human Resources. <br />The Master Plan shouid be amended to reflect these organizational, non-substantive changes. <br />Progress on Ac#ion Items <br />The main goal of this annual review is to evaluate the Plan's recomrroended action items to <br />determine what progress has been made and, where necessary, refocus attention to areas fhat <br />have not been addressed. <br />In the implementation chapter of the Master Plan, each action item was given a time frame: <br />Ongoing = im?nediate <br />Short range = 0-3 years <br />Mid range = 4-5 years <br />Long range = 5+ years <br />For the purpose of this review, the following progress report has extracted 4he action items only <br />from the implementation chapter. <br />1. Land Use & Development <br />a. Have both the Planning Commission and City Council adopt the Master Plan. <br />Time Frame: Short range <br />Primary Responsibility: Planning Commission, City Council <br />Supporting Parties: Steering Committee <br />Status: Compfete
