<br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a pet supply store.
<br />The following variance is requested:
<br />1. A variance for pet supply store being located less than 700 feet from a dwelling, (code requires
<br />700 ft, applicant shows less than 700).
<br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1139.01 (B) (4G)).
<br />Mr. IChouri, Representing the property owner and Mr. Sassano a Petco Real-estate Broker each came
<br />forward to be sworn in and address the request. Mr. Khouri reviewed that they are excited to be
<br />filling a vacant spot which has been vacant since the shopping center was constructed. They were
<br />present to define what Petco does as a company. Mr. Sassano advised that Petco is the nations
<br />second largest pet supply store. They are somewhat similar to Pet Mart but mostly deal with
<br />supplies for pets. They do sell small animals i.e. hamsters, fish, and other small animals of that
<br />nature. They do not sell dogs, cats, birds or other large animals nor are any of those animals
<br />bordered at the store. The store holds veterinarian clinics twice a month for inoculations for cats and
<br />dogs and other family pets. Veterinarians exainine the domestic pets and if anything is noticed they
<br />are advised to talce their pet to see their family vet. They offer a grooming service which is
