Mr. Malone felt the landscaping needed attention as there is missing shrubs along the front and
sides of the building. Perennials need to be added throughout the existing planting beds. The
south berm trees are fine but evergreen ground covering needs to be used to cover the exposed
sides of the berm. Mr. Bohlmann asked that the existing board on board fence along the east
property line be repaired and painted. Mr. Lasko advised the applicant he needed to submit a
detailed landscaping plan showing all existing landscaping and incorporating all of Mr. Malone's
recommendations with a key identifying all plantings. New detailed elevations need to be
submitted i.e. existing fence shown stating it will be repaired and painted, reference to backlit
awnings removed, elevations accurately identified and front columns expanded. A copy of the
engineers report was provided to the applicant with the recommendation the city engineer be
contacted to ensure their issues are addressed. Mr. Lasko said that he did not object to the use of
EIFS as proposed as it is above the brick level and Mr. Malone and Mr. Mahoney voiced their
agreement. Mr. Cotner asked if there was an irrigation system at the site. Mr. Malone advised that
in-ground irrigation systems are required by code and would need to be shown on the new
landscape plan.
Mr. Post asked if the commission could provide a list of landscaping plants they would liked used.
Mr. Malone suggested the applicant take photos of the existing plants at the site to show to a
nursery or garden center who then could identify their plants suggest were more shrubs axe needed
and provide ideas for types of perennials to add to give the beds seasonal color. Mrs. Meredith
advised that the dumpster is required to remain in the enclosed gates. However, when she was at
the site she noted the dumpster outside the enclosure. Existing directional signs also need to be
repaired and painted. Mr. Post said he would address the dumpster being left out.
J. Lasko moved to table the proposal for Kentucky Fried Chicken of 29701 Lorain Road
which consists of exterior modifications subject to the submission of revisions consistent with
the Commission's recommendations. R. Bohlmann seconded the motion, which was
unanimously approved.
VI. COMMUNICATIONS:
Ms. Wenger advised that the Crocker Stearns Corridor Plan would be on the next docket.
J. Lasko moved to excuse the absence of inember D. Rerko. G. Malone seconded the motion
which was unanimously approved.
VII. ADJOURNMENT:
With no further business, Mr. Lasko adjourned the meeting at 8:30 pm.

3
