ROLL CALL: <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. PRESENT: J. Lasko Jr., R. Bohlmann, G. Malone, M. Mahoney, and M. Meredith <br />ALSO PRESENT: Planning Director K. Wenger, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Asst. <br />Building Commissioner R. Mathews, City Engineer D. Collins and Clerk of Commissions D. <br />Rote. <br />ABSENT: D. Rerlco and J. Cotner. <br />III. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Laslco moved to approve the Planning & Design Commission minutes of March 14, 2007 as <br />written. M. Meredith seconded the motion. Roll call: J. Lasko, M. Meredith, G. Malone, R. <br />Bohlmann - yes; M. Mahoney - abstained. Motion approved. <br />J. Laslco moved to approve the Planning & Design Commission minutes of March 28, 2007 as <br />written. M. Meredith seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />IV. OL;D BUSINESS: <br />1. Drut! Mart; 24485 Lorain Road (WRD 4) <br />Proposal consists of building renovations and a drive-through addition. Note: PDC tabled <br />proposal 01/10/07 & 03/28/07. <br />Planning Director Wenger reported the revised plans addressed the commission's concerns <br />including architectural changes and landscape plan improvements. The fence on the east <br />property line will be partially removed and additional landscaping will be installed from the <br />building face to the street. Any damaged bricks will be repaired and graffiti removed. The <br />vending machines will remain indoors new benches and trash receptacles will be installed. The <br />landbanked parking is scheduled to be striped in as shown on new plans. Based on the updated <br />sign package submitted the size and locations of the signs, only require one variance for the exit <br />only sign on the drive through canopy which faces Lorain Road. The Commission had <br />expressed concerns about the amount of window signage. Window signage is regulated by the <br />Zoning Code. If it exceeds the permitted amount, it is subject to enforcement by the building <br />department. <br />Dave Howe, architect, said all landscape and architectural requests were incorporated into the <br />current plans. <br />Mr. Malone requested that the ornamental grass and burning bushes replacing the front section <br />of chainlink fence be planted every three feet. Mr. Bohlmann was glad the front section of fence <br />was b'eing removed but believed the remaining eastside section of fence was in poor condition. <br />Commission members discussed whether or not the eastside section of fence should be painted <br />1 <br />FILE Oly <br />1
