Lasko moved to approve the February 28, 2007 Planning & Design Commission minutes as
written. G. Malone seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
1. RTA Park and Ride Expansion; 5575 Great Northern Boulevard (WRD 4)
Proposal consists of expansion of the transit facility. Consolidation, street vacation and dedication
plat will be required. Note: PDC tabled proposa101/10/07 & 03/14/07.
Planning Director Wenger reported that the development returned with modified development
plans, lot consolidation, vacation and dedication plats. Amendments to the landscaping plan
included showing existing trees which are to remain as part of the plan. However the lot
consolidation and street vacation plat only shows the new portion of the project consolidated and
does not include the existing development. Nor does the plat dedicate the haimnerhead to the City
as requested. Therefore the Commission should consider approving the development plans subject
to modifications/conditions and table the plats until the Engineering Department issues are
resolved.
City Engineer Collins requested minor corrections and said the plat for the turnaround should
include a dedication to the City.
Mr. O'Malley advised that the plat would catch up to the development plan and be finalized
through legislation. Addressing tree removal permits, the City is diligently working with the
applicants to address the permit which is subject to Chapter 950 of the Streets, Utilities and Public
Service code. There is also progress between RTA and the administration regarding Kennedy
Road improvements.
Mr. Kleve, Director of Engineering at RTA, and Mr. Burlij, RTA Project Manager, addressed the
commission. Mr. Kleve believed they met each of the landscape concerns around the
hammerhead. They will dedicate the hammerhead to the City of North Olmsted as requested or if
the City prefers they would dedicate it to the County.
Mr. Lasko advised that the commission would table the Vacation, Lot Consolidation & Dedication
Plat for RTA until all respective parties within the administration and RTA team could finalize the
details of the documents.
1
