OLD BUSINESS
Nissan of North Olmsted; 28500 Lorain Road: (WRD # 1)
Proposal consists of fagade renovations & signage. Note: PDC tabled the proposal on 07/12/06
and variances may be required.
Planning Director Wenger reported the proposal consisted of fagade renovations, signage and
site iinprovements to the existing dealership. In lieu of painting the entire building silver,
metal paneling will be added to the north face service area. Additional landscaping was added
at the new entryway and front yards along either side of Lorain Road driveways. A concrete
sidewalk was added to wrap the north face of the building to the east main entrance. Parking
lot lighting remains unchanged other than the light fixtures being painted white or silver which
will be clarified.
A sign paclcage was submitted which requires a variance for two additional wall signs, code
allows one, and a 5 foot 2 inch variance for ground sign exceeding height allowance. The
Coinmission was asked to give BZA recommendations on the variances.
City Engineer Collins reported that the ground sign as shown is placed over the sanitary line
(10 foot depth) therefore it will need to be moved 4 to 5 feet more inward. He asked if the curb
aprons would be modified and, if so, must meet radius and width requirements. He
recommended painting the aprons to show three traffic lanes. Also C-1 is an as built survey
which requires the surveyor to use their wet seal, sign and date the plan.
fil?? Cf
