CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />-OLD TOWN HALL <br />MONDAY, MAY 14, 2007 <br />MINUTES <br />1. ROLL CALL: Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. <br />PRESENT: D. Thomas, T. Schock, M. Davis, T. Dubowski, P. Schumann, J. Herwick, J. <br />Lasko, L Orlowski <br />AB SENT: ' <br />ALSO PRESENT: George and Angie Cadwallader, Bob and Evy Franks <br />II. PLAQUE PRESENTATION: <br />Mr. Schumann presented the historic recognition plaques to the residents in attendance. <br />Angie Cadwallader, president of the Olmsted Historical Society, accepted tluee plaques for <br />the homes in Frostville inciuding the Briggs House, the cabin anct the Prechtel house. 1VIrs. <br />Cadwallader thanked the Commission on behalf of Frostville. In addition she expressed her <br />gratitude to the Commission for their participation in the preservation process in North <br />Olmsted and Frostville. <br />Bob and Evy Franks received a plaque for their 1870 home. Mr. Bob Franks, 96 years old, <br />also thanked the Commission for their involvement in the community's history and <br />preservation. <br />III. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Herwick moved to accept the minutes with corrections for April 9, 2007 seconded by T. <br />Dubowski, which was unanimously approved. <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Peaks Farm Historical Marker <br />Mr. Thomas proposed a marker for Joseph Peaks' farm. He submitted the language for the <br />Historical Marker and explained its importance to North Olmsted. Mr. Schumann would <br />like to have the Cultural Activities Commission to become involved. Mr. Schumann was <br />interested in pursuing grant money for the marker. <br />M. Davis moved to identify Joseph Peaks farm with a Ohio Historical Marker, with the <br />assistance of the Olmsted Historical Society, seconded by L. Orlowski, which was <br />unanimously approved. <br />Frostville Plan <br />Mrs. Cadwallader spoke about the plan for Frostville, the improvement in the aesthetics and <br />structure of the museum. She would like to have the church finished this year. The OHS <br />would also like to have signs put up for each home to explain their background. <br />T. Schock moved to have a Ohio Historical Marker on behalf of the Landmarks <br />Commission at Frostville, seconded by P. Schumann, which was unanimously <br />approved. ,
