Various resources for appropriate speakers and educational events were discussed. Mr. Schock would like to continue the work of identifying additional properties that ought to be landmarked and plaqued. As done in the past, it may be time to send a reminder letter to residents of the Historic District concerning the purpose of the Landmarks Commission and the privileges and responsibilities of living in that area. OLD BUSINESS Peake Marker Dedication (laeview) Mr. Schumann reported the event was a success. The event made the Westlife newspaper and included quotes from Dale Thomas as well as a photo of Mr. Schumann. Mr. Thomas worked very hard on this project and should be commended. Dr. J.D. Britton, manager of the Local History Office of the Ohio Historical Society, was very impressed with Frostville Museum and amazed that the complex was created and maintained by a volunteer organization. Concerning the Peake Marker, Dr. Britton said forty applications were submitted for the grant; the City of North Olmsted was one of only three that received funding. Website Link Mr. Schumann will follow up on this task to make sure the necessary information is submitted to the City to establish the link with the Olmsted Historical Society on the City's website. Certified Local Government Anplication Additional supporting documents were distributed to the CLG subcommittee. A meeting of the subcommittee to begin work on reviewing the application will be scheduled for the week of October 27.
