i ? <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 11, 2008 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Schumann called the meeting to order in Council Chambers at 7:00pm. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Thomas Schock; Tom Dubowski, Lawrence Orlowski, Dale <br />Thomas, Maryellen Davis, Jeff Herwick <br />Absent: John Lasko, Jr. <br />Staff: Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Secretary Shannon English <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Herwick moved to approve the Landmarks Commission minutes with corrections, <br />seconded by Mr. Schumann, for January 14, 2008 which was unanimously approved. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Frostville Pancake Breakfast <br />There was a notice in the members' packets regarding the pancake breakfast at Frostville in <br />March. The Barton Church rededication will also take place at Frostville in August. <br />Securi <br />Mr. Thomas was concerned about security issues and mentioned they should be reviewed for <br />evening meetings. Councilman Orlowski clarified that Council has discussed the possibility of <br />adding security however the police department is located directly next door to City Hall. The <br />presence of an armed guard during public meetings might deter participation by the general <br />public and reflect negatively on the city. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Doolittle Historic Marker <br />Mr. Schumann explained that the Doolittle proposal was removed from discussion. Mr. <br />Schumann stated that there was some contention regarding the marker however in the future it <br />will be re-visited. Mr. Orlowski would like to note that we could revisit the idea. <br />Peake Historic Marker <br />Mr. Thomas noted that he received notice from Kim Wenger that the Peake Marker will be <br />discussed in Council committee tomorrow. Ms. Wenger noted that it is in the review process. It <br />will not be voted on until March. <br />Biddulph Trail <br />Mr. O'Malley reviewed the Certificate of Appropriateness that was denied for the demolition of <br />25747 Butternut Ridge Road. He explained to the Commission that the applicant should <br />continue to come before the Commission to discuss the options and make progress on the
