the site as needed. Mr. Mould said the existing paving along the back of the building would be
extended for traffic flow through the building. There will be two new overhead doors installed
and will open and close as vehicles trigger a sensor. The plans include making structural repairs
and repainting the building Artisan Tan. The overhead doors and man door will be painted
brown. Composite siding, aluminum trim, gutters and downspouts will be patched, repaired and
painted Chateau Brown. The new dumpster area will be painted split-face block with wooden
gates on a concrete slab. A new landscape plan will be installed which includes irrigation. The
back of the site will remain in its natural state other than mowing the lawn.
Mr. Rerko asked if the aluminum framing around the windows and doors would be painted. He
questioned the state of the glass and glass block framing. Around the building all holes or
missing mortar are to be repaired prior to painting and details of how the new sign would be
mounted needs to be submitted" for review. All steel doors and framing are to be repainted and
both new overhead doors should match the accent color. Mr. Mould said the aluminum framing
would remain natural except around the new overhead doors. The glass block would be
realigned but overall is in good condition and the building repairs would be completed prior to
painting. Mr. Rerlco noted the drop-off/pickup loading zone looked too small for trucks to
maneuver as it is in the path of incoming vehicles. Mr. Mould said during pickups they would
have to cone off the area until the pickup is completed. Mr. Rerko asked how the full containers
would be dumped into the trucks or removed. Mr. Ivancic said trucks would back up to the
building and a forklift would place the cardboard containers on the back of the truck. The
number of pickups will be determined by the amount of items collected each day. Mr. Rerko
questioned if there would be anything stored outdoors. Ms. Wenger noted the zoning code
prohibited any outdoor storage. Mr. Ivancic agreed to limit pickups to times that would not
interfere with operations.
Mr. Malone said the landscape plan was satisfactory as presented. Mr. Bohlmann questioned the
layout of the water quality basin shown and felt it should be moved farther away from the
concrete pad. Mr. Collins said the plans show a depression which wraps around the corner of the
cement slab but would not affect the slab. Mr. Mould said there were issues pertaining to tying
into the existing storm water system, so the engineer is showing a rock dam system along the
back of the pavement to slow the detention release. Mr. Bohlmann questioned what materials
would be collected at the site and voiced a concern that items would be dropped off after hours
and create a mess. He is also concerned the loading zone would create safety hazards. Mr.
Ivancic said that they have never had a problem with after hours drop offs. Mr. Bohlmann
questioned how items would be separated and if the cans would be crushed on site. Mr. Ivancic
said items would run along a conveyor belt to a larger container which weighs and collect
materials or placed in collection bins by customers. There is a small machine which cuts larger
pieces of inetal which is quiet. Mr. Bohlmann thought traffic could be backed up and questioned
if the width of the drive allowed cars to maneuver around each other and leave the site. Mr.
Ivancic said the drive width is 40 feet to allow vehicles to maneuver around each other.
Mrs. Meredith asked what items would be collected. Mr. Ivancic said they take all metal
materials, steal, aluminum, copper, brass, alloys, as well as computer equipment.
