Ms. Wenger said the project is co-locating on an existing T-Mobile tower behind Patton's
Towing. The tower would be extended to 190 feet, and an equipment structure installed within
the existing fenced area. Because it is a co-location, the proposal is considered an accessory use
under the WTFO District, and does not require a conditional use permit as did the original tower.
Mr. Mitchell said the drawing shows a duel flood light and he would like to see an exterior
shielded light used. He noted that two 5-ton HVAC units were being installed which could be
noisy. Mr. Rerko noted that he requested any generators on the site have shields to control noise
levels. Mr. O'Malley said the tower is required to be capable of extending to 200 feet therefore
the extension of the tower is appropriate. The review is basically the existing shelter and
equipinent issues within the shelter.
Mr. Gainar said the location of the tower was chosen to meet the needs of their clients as there is
currently a hole in the area signal. The 190 foot level would meet their needs for the antenna and
the self contained shelter will fit within the fenced enclosure without disrupting the landscaping.
They will use a shielded exterior light on the shelter as requested. The HVAC units will not run
siinultaneously; one baclcs the other up and will have a hum similar to a home unit. The HVAC
units are needed to lceep the equipment room cool. Mr. Rerlco said the HVAC compressors
would be the same as any retail unit on the market. Mr. Gainar said they would not be installing
a generator. He believed the noise levels would be about 80 decibels at the most.
Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann, to approve the proposal for COMS08-15:
AT&T Co-Location on existing tower at 29688 I,orain Road, conclitioned upon showang a
shielded light on the equipment shelter, wlaich was unanimously approved 7-0.
COMMUNICATIONS
OPC Cleveland Planning & Zoning Workshop
Ms. Wenger requested the commissioners indicate whether or not they would be attending the
worlcshop as soon as possible as seats were limited and depending on the number of PDC
members attending she would like to possibly invite BZA members. Mrs. Meredith asked if the
planner had recommendations for sessions they should attend. Ms. Wenger said she would leave
it open to the commissioners' interests.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adj ourned at 9:10 pm.
J 1 J.
