COMMITTEE REPORTS
Dover Players Update
Ms. Martindale reported auditions for The Children's Hour will conclude this evening and
rehearsals begin on Monday, June 8. The Dover Player's scholarship was awarded to Ryan
Wolf; the Honors Reception went well. Ms. Martindale said a man (name unknown) submitted
to Todd Evangelista a musical he wrote for review and comment. It is set in an elegant gym,
features various characters and includes 28 original songs and lyrics. Linda and Mark Little have
been researching local theaters suitable for performing the musical however the author believes
Old Town Hall would be appropriate. This musical may be scheduled for 2010, and would be a
very different style of performance than has been offered in the past. Greg Lavalle, who recently
played Mr. Watson in The 3 Gems of Sherlock Holmes, has also written a play. Ms. Martindale
found it darlc, grim, dramatic, long, and very unique, offering two different endings from which
the audience can choose. The play requires a stage that has two separate areas. Mark and Linda
Little found a theater that has a center stage that splits into two halves. Mark and Linda will
produce this play.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Yustick announced that Deby Cowdin has requested to join the Cultural Activities
Commission. She will submit a letter of intent and a resume to Mayor O'Grady.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Wahl moved, seconded by Ms. Martindale, to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 p.m., which was
unanimously approved.
Gerald Yusti„ ir
L/
ricia A. Granfors. Secret
Approved:
t'f ?910?
