LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES FOR MAY 11, 2009 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. in Council Chambers and Mr. Dubowski <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Thomas Schock, Tom Dubowski, Maryellen Davis, John Lasko, <br />Larry Orlowski, Jeff Herwick <br />Absent: Don Rerko, Dale Thomas <br />Staff: Secretary Tricia Granfors <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Davis moved, seconded by Mr. Orlowski, to approve the Apri113, 2009 minutes, which <br />were unanimously approved. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Cemeterv Improvement Proiect <br />The Cemetery Committee meeting scheduled for May 11 was cancelled. An e-mail will be sent <br />to the committee members in the near future to update them on recent progress. Director <br />Wenger requested that Dover Players consider taking donations for cemetery improvements at <br />their October and November performances of Artful Murder; Ms. Martindale is considering it. <br />Second 2009 Landmarks Commission Sneaker Event <br />Director Wenger is seeking a cemetery restoration specialist to make a presentation this fall. <br />Centennial of the Village of North Olmsted and City Schools <br />Mr. Schumann met with Dr. Cheryl Dubsky and Vera Brewer regarding the North Olmsted <br />Schools centennial observance. The Olmsted Historical Society has agreed to supply them with <br />school artifacts for the Homecoming presentation. In addition, OHS will provide historical <br />photos and the funding to have the pictures enlarged and printed onto PVC plastic for display; 10 <br />or 12 twelve large prints will be created. Dover Players, through the Cultural Activities <br />Commission, is planning an entry in the Homecoming Parade including a historic vehicle and <br />people dressed in historic costumes representing various eras and styles since North Olmsted <br />became a village and then a city.
