On Page 2 of the
proposed ordinance, under 165.04(d), Duties, Mr. Schock recommends the language be modified
to read "to retain into city archives or with such other body the Landmarks Commission deems
appropriate any such records that it determines are of local historical interest or value" so that,
without further legislation, items may be transferred to the Olmsted Historical Society. Mr.
Schock feels the historical items would be better utilized and preserved in the climate controlled
Olmsted Historical Society archives than boxed in the city archives. It was agreed that Mr.
Orlowski will present the proposed change to Law Director Dubelko. Mr. Orlowski explained
part of the records retention process to the commission.
Mr. Schock moved, seconded by Mr. Orlowski, to recommend the language on Page 2 in
the proposed ordinance under 165.04(d) be mod'afied to read "to retain into city archives or
wit/a suclz otlzer body tlae Landmarks Commission deens appropriate any such records that it
determines are of local historical interest or value," which vvas unanimously approved.
