Ms. Kassouf's presentation will be the first thing on the April meeting agenda.
For the next speaker event Ms. Wenger recommends a presentation on cemetery restoration. She
will inquire if Jeremy Feador is available and willing to present a lecture or recommend
someone. NIr. Feador is a former SITES student and current graduate student who has done
restoration work in a Berea cemetery. He has recommended to the Cemetery Improvement
Committee a cemetery preservation workshop co-sponsored by the Berea Historical Society and
Baldwin Wallace College scheduled for July 18-19. The cost will depend on the number of
participants. When additional information is available on the workshop it will be e-mailed. Mr.
Schumann indicated that the Olmsted Historical Society may be able to subsidize cost.
Centennial of the Villaize of North Olmsted and City Schools
Mr. Lasko reported that, to his knowledge, no specific plans have been made in the schools;
celebration of the centennial was not intended until fall. Mr. Thomas recommended they make
application in October allowing time to obtain grants and donations to cover costs. Church
leadership intends to seek permission to have the marker placed in the right-of-way. Ms. Wenger will investigate the right-of-way
boundaries.
Events
Mr. Schumann reported that March 15 is the last Sunday for the Olmsted Historical Society
Pancake Breakfast at Frostville.
